Hi, my name is Denise O'Longaigh and I am currently entering my fifth year as Holy Family's preschool teacher. I grew up in Dublin, Ireland where I began my career working with young children. I am Montessori trained and have 14 years of experience working in early development. I have been a teacher in many countries including; Ireland, Australia, England and the United States. I am a mother of four children and two dogs. In my free time I like to walk my dogs and attend my children's dance competitions and soccer games.
In our pre4 class the children are adjusting to their new schedule. We have started our alphabet journey with weekly projects are fine motor activities on a daily basis. Each Wednesday we visit the main school to participate in our music program with Mrs Raines. On Fridays the children are enjoying reading buddies with the 8 th graders and our Spanish teacher Senior Parodi comes by for Spanish class every week.
For the month of December the children have worked on lots of christmas activities. They have heard about the story of Jesus and have told me their version for our creative writing stories. We have completed our Christmas activity math books and made our own gingerbread houses. They have enjoyed making presents for their parents and making decorations for their trees. We will end this blessed season with a classrom celebration for all our families. Happy Christmas everyone!
