The Leadership Program at Holy Family Catholic School provides opportunities for seventh and eighth grade students to learn and grow leadership skills by organizing, leading, and participating in school events; hosting activities; and participating in community service projects.
Students apply for the Leadership Program by submitting a theme paper, which is reviewed by teaching staff, who select the leadership team. Students participating on the leadership team gain experience working in teams to define objectives for projects and problem solve logistics and issues to reach those objectives. This experience prepares students to be leaders and active participants as they move from middle school into high school. Historically, Holy Family students have gone on to become leaders in student body government, honor society, and other high school organizations and have even been chosen as the Rose Festival Queen.
Some of the leadership team activities includ working with St.Vincent de Paul on food drives, working with the younger grades in Holy Family traditions such as “Marshmallow Day,” leading paraliturgies, and sponsoring the Mother Child Education Center’s Baby Bottle drive for donations, clothing, and toys.
