Hi! I am Sydney Webb, and I am the fourth grade teacher! I am originally from Hilton Head, South Carolina, where I attended the University of South Carolina for my Bachelor's. I moved to Portland for my masters, where I attended Pacific University. Prior to Holy Family, I worked as a social media marketer, and prior to that I taught Kindergarten Spanish! I am so excited for this year, especially in growing in community - I want each student to feel valued and appreciated! My goal for this year is to help my "Miss Webb's Spider Webs" learn how to organize our time, work, and focus.
Religion:
We are learning about the Sermon on the Mount! More specifically, we are learning about the Beatitudes. In addition, we are also learning our new Friendzy curriculum - it is a supplemental Social-Emotional workbook to help our students grow!
Math:
We are exploring strategies for multiplication and division. These strategies are to help those who need visual representation instead of memorizing facts.
Social Studies:
We are studying the 9 Federally Recognized tribes. This will be the basis for their first project! They will divided into nine groups, each group designated one of the tribes. The visual representation will be the final project of each group - creating a diorama based on their tribe.
English/Language Arts:
We are working on the writing process, specifically for grammar, and beginning separating into independent reading groups.
