The Holy Family School Endowment is a fund which was established in 1988 for the sole purpose of creating a sustainable resource to provide support for the operation, maintenance, capital requirements, tuition assistance, and continuing existence of Holy Family Catholic School.
All funds come from individuals, families and other organizations who have generously chosen Holy Family School Endowment as a priority in their gift giving. The Endowment has been blessed by numerous benefactors over the years of its existence. Many have chosen to bequeath a gift from their estate. Others have chosen to make a gift during their lifetime. No matter the gift size, the Endowment (and ultimately the school) benefits greatly as the fund grows over time through the generosity of its donors.
An Endowment Committee consisting of the Pastor, the School Principal, and an appointed group of five parishioners (including a member of the School Advisory Council as well as a member of the Parish Finance Council) with skills relevant to the responsible stewardship of the fund meets regularly throughout the year to review financial performance of the Endowment. All funds are held in the Catholic Education Endowment Fund (“CEEF”), a professionally managed fund of pooled assets of Catholic Schools.
Our children benefit:
Our young people benefit greatly through the experience of a faith based education. They receive challenging but exceptional instruction in a safe environment from teachers whose principles are aligned with our Catholic beliefs.
Our Community Benefits:
Holy Family Catholic School prepares youth with critical life skills and a keen sense of social responsibility. In additional to a rigorous curriculum, children are required to participate in service projects and learn early what it means to do God’s work though good deeds.
Our Catholic Church benefits:
The skills learned at Holy Family Catholic School help lay a faith based foundation for success. These children are the future of our Church.
The Endowment fund value fluctuates depending on investment market results, distributions from the Endowment to the School, and contributions received from generous supporters, including estate gifts. The Endowment Committee is commissioned to use every effort to protect and help grow the principal balance so that the annual distribution to the School can continue to increase over time. If you are interested on the Endowment’s performance, value and distributions to the school, please inquire with the pastor or the School Principal.
The Endowment Funds endeavor to spend approximately 4% of the fund’s value every year based on a three (3) year rolling average of the Fund’s value. Based on investment returns and the projected needs of the School, the committee may recommend from time to time that a distribution of no less than 3% and no more than 5% of the fund value be distributed.
Operating a school is expensive! In order to keep tuition affordable, yet still maintain a quality staff, safe and clean facilities, and modern resources for our children, the School relies on fundraising in order to offset expenses. The funds received from the Endowment disbursements are an important part of the School’s operating budget.
We are blessed by your generosity and thank you for all you do. The Endowment may not be a good fit for your charitable giving right now. We would simply ask that you prayerfully consider supporting it should your circumstances allow. There are many ways you could have a positive impact on the Endowment and we would welcome the opportunity to discuss those with you!
Simply put… No. However, please do consider the Holy Family School Endowment when planning your estate. Any gift, regardless of the size, matters and does make a difference!
