"Cup of Joe" with Joe!

Cup of Joe Notes 1/24/20 
 
Special guest: Andy Owings from SAC 
 

1. Increase Cup of Joe Attendance
a. Put out signage in front of school- Farrah Tran will take responsibility 
b. Ask Melissa to put out an email alert? Maybe include potential agenda 
c. Email Room Parents to send out reminders/invite to attend 
d. Need to announce how/where to locate Cup of Joe notes so people can be informed even if they cannot attend 

2. Increase adult presence at School Mass a. Father Rodel to mention at weekend Masses?

3. Build excitement for Catholic Schools Week/Open Houses
a. Incentive for new enrollment referrals
b. There is a wait list for 6th grade
c. Biggest need is elementary grades
d. Current enrollment is 213. Goal is 225.

4. Budget
a. Joe is grateful to SAC during this transition time for their guidance and patience.
b. Joe will always do things in our school’s best interest; he does not want to dictate everything and solicits input, but will be responsible for final decision.
c. Plan is to increase tuition by 5% which is largely in part to help raise teachers salaries 1% and to cover cost of living increases (PPS teachers are set to get another raise - want to retain our staff - Retaining Staff = Retaining Students with stability and excellence)
d. Joe values and admires our faculty and staff so very much - he has never witnessed the thoughtfulness and care this staff brings
e. Need help with GALA - biggest event for the school
f. New lightning will help save $9000/year. Took 3 days to complete thanks to help vs. projected 8 days. Led to getting lightning done in Parish Conference Room
g. Immediate need to fix leak in roof above entrance area. Next, roof area over middle school needs repair.

5. Grandparents Tea
a. Father Rodel will give blessing 
b. Discussion about moving AM Mass to just before Tea next year to be able to share in a full Mass instead of Paraliturgy. Should be able to move lunch/recess for this day to accommodate 
c. Discussion about subtle donations/fundraising during tea. Just a collection during full mass?
d. Any changes will be tabled until after Grandparents Tea 2020. Changes discussed are for 2021.
