Holy Family Catholic School’s Preschool program exposes preschoolers to “pre-skills” that will develop school readiness: help them understand the routines of school, how to interact with their peers, become independent, and how to be students. Our Pre-3 program is designed with stations that provide free choice of engaging activities throughout the morning. Each day the children will experience circle time, music, art, outdoor time, pre-math, science, and pre-language skills. Our goal is to meet your child where they are developmentally, and curate play based lessons that will help him/her thrive.

Holy Family Catholic School's Pre-K program explores basic concepts in math, literacy, science, religion, and social skills.
In math, children are introduced to our lower elementary math program, Bridges. Our Pre-K Bridges math lessons are designed to engage children through the use of seasonal themes, games, stories, mysteries, and intriguing problems that will give them a strong foundation for mathematical success.
In literacy, children will be exposed to sound and rhythm through games, music, finger plays, nursery rhymes, and poetry. Our literacy curriculum is supported with Heggerty Phonemic Awareness Pre-Kindergarten lessons. These lessons provide students the opportunity to improve reading, spelling, and writing, as the students learn to hear the sounds in words. All of these skills help to build a solid foundation for succesful reading.
In science, children are given the opportunity to discover our amazing world through hands on exploration. Our discovery table has rotating activities so students can examine the wonder of magnets, prisms, magnifying glasses, color mixing, chemistry, and nature. Students will gain a fundamental understanding that there are three major branches of science: Physical, Life, and Earth/Space.
In religion, children learn about understanding the power of God’s love, recognizing God’s creations, being kind, and showing compassion to others. Prayer occurs daily in our classroom and the children learn a new prayer to recite monthly.
Students are given opportunities to participate in activities that help them learn new social-emotional skills and/or practice existing skills in a fun and supportive environment.

As faith-filled learners, fourth graders participate in prayer daily, and help and respect God's creations. During class discussions and activities across the curriculum, the fourth graders remind each other of important lessons Jesus Christ teaches us. The fourth graders discuss the importance of having trust, respect, open communication, and honesty in our friendships.
The fourth graders learn about discipleship and continue to grow as faith-filled learners. They learn about empathy. Having empathy for others helps the fourth graders better understand how to spread happiness. They know why Jesus gave us The Beatitudes to spread joy to others.
This year, our fourth graders become successful multi-paragraph writers. They learn about the outline for a multi-paragraph composition: introduction, body, and conclusion. It is important for us to have ideas to write about. This is, at times, where writers may hit a road block and don't know where to begin. The fourth graders will learn about and experiment with various prewriting strategies--brainstorming webs, graphic organizers, making lists, making T-charts, etc. to assist them in avoiding writer's block.
